About Our Love for Utah Travel
About Uncovering Utah and Beyond
Linger a Little Longer
Welcome—I’m Jennifer, and this space is the result of years of travel, curiosity, and a growing belief that we don’t need to rush through beautiful places to truly experience them.
Uncovering Utah and Beyond isn’t just a travel blog.
It’s a different way of traveling—and a connected experience across video, writing, and professional life.
Why This Blog Exists
Like many travelers, I used to approach trips with a checklist:
- See the top sights
- Take the photo
- Move on
But after living in Utah and exploring it extensively over the past decade, something shifted.
Places started to feel different when we returned to them.
The same viewpoint—visited again—could feel completely new:
- different light
- different weather
- different energy
- even a different version of ourselves
That’s when this idea took shape:
Linger a Little Longer
This blog is built on the belief that:
- You don’t have to see everything
- You don’t have to rush
- And sometimes, the most meaningful travel experiences happen when you stay a little longer—or come back again
Why Utah?
Originally, I’m from New York—where landscapes are beautiful, but very different from the vast, open spaces of the American West.
Then I discovered Moab.
What started as a visit turned into a tradition. Over the years, we’ve returned again and again—not because there’s nothing new to see, but because there’s always something new to experience.
Utah has a way of doing that.
From red rock deserts to alpine mountain drives, it’s a place that invites you to slow down, take it in, and notice more.
How This Blog, YouTube, and LinkedIn Work Together
This space is part of a broader ecosystem designed to meet you in different ways depending on how you like to explore and learn.
🎥 YouTube: Visual Experience
On YouTube, you’ll find immersive travel videos that bring destinations to life—scenic drives, viewpoints, and on-the-ground experiences.
These videos are meant to help you see a place before you go.
Here's our channel trailer!
✍️ This Blog: Deeper Context
Here on the blog, you’ll find the companion perspective.
Each post expands on what you see in the videos:
- More detailed insights
- Travel context and tips
- Reflections on what a place feels like—not just what it looks like
This is where we slow things down even further.
💼 LinkedIn: Travel as Work-Life Balance
We also share content on LinkedIn—but with a slightly different purpose.
In a space often focused on productivity, performance, and professional growth, travel content offers something equally important:
- A reset
- A moment of inspiration
- Ideas for weekends and vacations
- A reminder that rest and exploration are part of a sustainable career
The response has been clear—people value having something in their feed that feels human, refreshing, and grounding.
What You’ll Find Here
This blog is designed to help you experience Utah (and nearby regions) in a deeper, more intentional way.
Thoughtful Travel Guides
Not just “what to see,” but how to experience a place—when to go, how long to stay, and what to notice.
Scenic Drives & Hidden Routes
Utah is one of the best road trip destinations in the U.S., with routes like Utah State Route 12 offering unforgettable views.
Lesser-Known Destinations
Beyond the major parks, there are incredible places like Kodachrome Basin State Park and San Rafael Swell that many travelers miss.
Shakespeare Arch (Sentinal Trail) Hike in Kodachrome Basin State Park (From 2018, arch has since collapsed)
San Rafael Swell- so much to see here, including the Little Grand Canyon/Wedge Overlook
Real Experiences
This isn’t a bucket-list blog. It’s based on real trips—often repeated—to better understand what makes each place special.
A Different Kind of Travel Philosophy
There’s nothing wrong with seeing a lot in a short amount of time.
But this blog is for those who are looking for something more:
- More connection to place
- More awareness of surroundings
- More space to think, reflect, and enjoy
Whether it’s sitting at an overlook above Lake Powell or driving through quiet desert backroads, the goal is the same:
Experience, not just visit
Who This Is For
This space is for you if:
- You prefer meaningful travel over rushed itineraries
- You’re drawn to scenic drives, open landscapes, bike rides, and quiet places
- You don’t mind returning to destinations more than once
- You want guidance—but not rigid schedules
You don’t need to be an expert hiker or an extreme adventurer, need an ATV, high clearance vehicle, 4x4, climbing gear or extreme sports gear.
You just need curiosity—and a willingness to slow down.
Beyond Utah
While Utah is at the heart of this blog, the “and Beyond” matters too.
You’ll also find:
- Nearby destinations across the American West
- Scenic routes that cross state lines
- Experiences that complement a Utah-based trip
Because some journeys don’t stop at the border.
Final Thought
If there’s one idea I hope you take with you, it’s this:
You don’t need to do more to have a better trip.
Sometimes, you just need to pause longer in the places that matter.
Anchor when sharing...
We thought we knew Utah—until we slowed down.
Most people rush through places like Utah.
We stopped rushing.
And everything changed.
The same canyon. The same viewpoint. The same road—felt completely different when we weren’t trying to “see it all.”
That’s what Uncovering Utah and Beyond is about: slower travel, repeat visits, and noticing what most people miss.
Not more places. Better presence.
Utah taught us this: depth comes from going back, not speeding through.
